<p>Nationality: Chinese (born in China)</p>

<p>Currently high school junior, class of '10.</p>

<p>Languages:
English, Mandarin Chinese, French
(spoke Hebrew when I was young but forgot lol), can recognize most of the Greek characters but I guess that doesn’t count xP</p>

<p>Background:
As of my current age, I have lived in five different countries, which are:
Israel
Cyprus
Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia
Lebanon
China
This is due to my dad’s job in the United Nations (staff member, no affiliation with any national government). Although he has worked in places such as Afghanistan and the Balkans. Again, he is a civilian XD
I have never been to the United States, either. Attended international schools all the way, except for one year in a Chinese public school (second grade). I think I have attended more than half a dozen schools.....</p>

<p>GPA until now: 3.4 Unweighted</p>

<p>I am taking the IB Diploma at an American/Int’l school here which has + 100 applications to NYU in the last few years, and I am told our school has high acceptance rates for NYU. My courses are:</p>

<p>English A1 Higher Level (Considered equivalent of AP Lit)
Economics HL
Biology HL
Math Standard Level
French B SL
Chemistry SL
Major weakness in math, I’m doing okay for sciences, strengths lie in humanities. My passion is basically history though, lol, and solid strength in English.</p>

<p>Took SAT I in January, score is 1870, with weakness in math (around 580).</p>

<p>I plan to take the SAT II Lit and US History in May, SAT I again in June, and use those scores to gauge what to take in October.</p>

<p>Career Choice: Law/Lawyer
Major for consideration: Int’l Relations/Political Science.</p>

<p>Extra Curricular:
Model United Nations – since eighth grade, got numerous awards and such, main submitter etc. etc.
One Habitat for Humanity trip.
Did a little bit of community service here and there.
Forensics club.
Plan to join some more between now and then.</p>

<p>If accepted, I will be first in my dad’s side to go to an American college, first in my mom’s side to actually attend college, lol.</p>

<p>Considering Early Decision for NYU.</p>

<p>What are the chances? I realize I need to raise both my SAT scores and GPA.</p>

<p>…and polsci isn’t exactly a math major XD</p>

<p>But I’m freaking out about my…mediocre GPA and scores. Major epiphany right there last night lol</p>

<p>But that means I’ll only have a little more than two months of schooling left before ED. I want to ED College of Arts and Sciences, and I get the feeling I’ll get rejected :(</p>
