In your mind what are the scores to get on the act/sat for the various levels of colleges? In other words once you get this score its good enough, move on already.</p>

<p>All I can say is that I think the SAT score for top twenty (I hesitate to use the term “cutoff”) is probably higher than what most think. Like 2300 with no section under 750. That’s just my arbitrary opinion.</p>
<p>There’s no “cutoff” for the top schools, it’s just an average. A top school could accept a student with 1600 SAT that published groundbreaking research or won several international competitions. Likewise, that school can reject a 2400 SAT with virtually nothing extraordinary.</p>
