I'm from Singapore, that's in Asia btw. So I'm in a school that's specialized in Math and Science and is affiliated to the best local university (NUS) here. But, I want to study medicine in UK. I don't have A levels, I'll graduate with a NUS High School Diploma. My GPA as of now is around 4.5-4.7 out of 5.0. (Yeah it's a weird grading system here). Should I take A levels here privately? What scores do I need if i take A levels? Also, what other exams should I take? I really want to get into UCL, Imperial or colleges like that. Please advice! Thanks! :)

I’m not sure about classes, but I don’t think A-levels are strictly necessary as long as you have some sort of equivalent (ie AP, IB, etc). For medicine, you can only apply to 4 schools through UCAS (plus 1 more uni, but for a different major). You have to take the BMAT and/or the UKCAT, depending on where you want to go, and your score on that tests matters tremendously.
Good luck!!

Thanks! I’ve been reading other posts and have heard that Uk schools prefer A levels or IB to AP. Since I don’t want to transfer to an IB school, I can only take A’s haha. Oh okay I’ll take them, thanks! Also, I can read up on university courses via my school since it’s affiliated to NUS. Would this give any benefits? What about research projects? We have one compulsory research project for graduation, and I’m also thinking of doing more, would that be helpful? thanks to all :D
