Just visited Skidmore and did not have time to visit a dorm. Can anyone who has seen the dorms describe them?
The dorms are really nice. My daughter was tripled her freshman year and not sure if they still do that but lets assume they dont. For two people, the size is great. She had a 10’ window seat and both had good sized closets. Her room was part of a suite where there are three rooms (two doubles and one single) off the main hallway with a shared bathroom (two sinks, separate shower and separate toilet area) and a very large utility closet. She was moved to a single half way through, nice size room, big closet, 5’ window seat. I can’t remember what she did sophomore year lol. Junior and senior years she has been in the apartments, four private bedrooms, two bathrooms, nice kitchen/dining and living space. Of all the schools we looked at, and we looked at alot, Skidmore was in the top 5 for dorms and dining.
I agree that the dorm rooms were lovely and nice sizes, especially compared to other schools. Having the bathroom right outside the room was great, but they seemed very outdated and super-institutional. But probably not bad compared to other schools!
They are better than urban campus and on par with many other schools - maybe slightly better.
