Current Freshman: Do you like the dorms?

Do you think they are nice? Is there a lot of social interaction in the dorms?

We (son and I) were just there for a visit and the dorms are great! Each student has his own small private room within the dorm suite. I don’t know many (any?) other school that has this for freshmen.

Although I am not a current freshman, my D is and really enjoys her dorm. There are three girls who share a suite. Each girl has her own separate room and they share a common area, a room with a toilet, and a room with a shower. There is a bank of three separate sinks and vanities, so each girl has her own sink with a bank of three drawers and a cabinet under the sink. Her dorm is brand new - she was the first one to sleep in her room. The other dorm is one year older.

On the main floor of her dorm is a common area with couches, tv’s a cooking area and I believe some game tables. There is a nice laundry room and there is no cost to do laundry.

Next year she will move to an apartment and will need to provide her own furnature.

Hey y’all, I’m a freshman in the dorms now. Let me tell you that we get spoiled. Having your own room is such a luxury. Umm I’ve never had a problem with noise and if you do you just call the front desk and they take care of it. Each hall is different as far as social interaction goes. A lot of people are good friends with their hall nates. I joined a sorority So I mainly hang out with my sisters but before recruitment I loved hanging with my neighbors. The peer advisors are awesome. But the charm of the dorms def wears off. In ready to move to the apartments haha

Dorms are amazing~ I was initially placed on the wait list so I was preparing for off-campus, but I’m really happy I made it on-campus!! The dorms are really secure and a super easy way to make friends. All of my friends I made were through Comet Camp and living in the res hall (though none of them live in my hall xDD). The PAs are pretty chill if you can find the right ones :DD

The only annoyances come for room checks (every single month) and the fire alarm tests (once in a while, but it’s absolutely awful if you’re stuck inside when they go off). Other than that, the dorms are pretty great.
