Has anyone rushed or is planning to rush?

I'm currently at a community college in the OC and I was wondering about the breakdowns for the sororities. I saw that there was one in 2005 for the fraternities but I was wondering if there was one for the sororities.

I also read that the chances of transferring and rushing weren't that great, so does that mean they don't like people rushing in? ):

I personally did not rush, but I had 6 of my suitemates rush There’s no specific stereotype exactly, but there are some sororities that will be extremely fake during rush (2 of my suitemates visited this one sorority and the girls were extremely giddy - doing this specific dance of theirs whenever they met someone…)

Anyway, with the sororities you really have to give your all. There are the usual elite sororities, and anyone who rushes is pretty much guaranteed a bid to this one sorority also (can’t remember the name, rofl). Basically, you have to get along with everyone and make yourself well-liked. At some of the sororities, they want you to be on your feet and talking up a storm.

Oh, and you’re going to hate it during rush because if you are rushing for a sorority, you are literally banned from any of the frat parties for, I think, a week and a half :p

edit: late response, I know. I’m just floating around the USC forum to help out the newcomers.

Katte- did you feel at all left out or anything like that not rushing? I’m still undecide about the whole rush thing

Most of my floormates rushed, but I didn’t. Mind you, I had the advantage of band to look after me. :)

I was supposed to rush, which made me feel out of the loop at times. But really, I didn’t mind later on since I could go to the frat parties without a sorority check Haha. But really, it’s up to you - rush or no rush, you’re still gonna meet a lot of good people. A whole lot from your major, most likely. But rushing is a, excuse me, “rush”. lol..
