Here's what I think. This list is based solely on subjectivity.

UC Berkeley

Pomona College

UCLA

Honorable Mention: USC, Harvey Mudd

Stanford

Cal Tech

UC Berkeley

Harvey Mudd

Pomona College

In before “1. UCI”

Stanford

UC Berkeley

Cal Tech

UCLA

(sadly) USC or maybe UCSD

I have a bias against small colleges and colleges that over-specialize. (Why Cal ranks higher than Cal Tech in my subjective list.)

harvey mudd in some departments, but it’s a shame no one knows about Pomona (even in the academic community)

oh the list…

Stan

UCLA

Cal

Cal Tech (1 in some departments)

CSU :D

1.Stanford
2.Berkeley
3.CIT
4.UCLA
5.USC/UCSD

a bit too much praise for pomona…imo it is competitive with ucsd/uci/ucd as a university as a whole but if it was by departments, i would rank it among top 3

^^^ you are trippin lol. pomona is way above ucsd/uci/ucd.

my list

@iluvpho You really think UCSD belongs in the Top 5 schools in California?? Above UCLA, USC?

Even looking at my list, I can very possibly put Pomona above Berkeley. I know it sounds crazy but that school I believe is just as hard to get into as Stanford. Only reason it ranks low is due to the size and not enough name recognition for the school itself (which I guess holds a lot of ground when ranking top schools).

caltech
Stanford
Pomona/Harvey Mudd
Berkeley
UCLA/Claremont McKenna

You may not hear about Pomona very often, but it’s up there! Many Pomona students go on to attend grad school @ the Ivys

UCI, as I’ll be going there.

lol well if thats the case then i think im not giving them ENOUGH praise : [ underestimate FTL

Im surprised no ones listing USC in the top 5 for how recognized a lot of their programs are, not to mention the ranking of their graduate schools.

^Finally, someone with some common sense.

1.Stanford
2.Caltech/Pomona
3.UCLA
4.UCB
5.Claremont McKenna

^^

How can you rank mckenna about USC??

^^

I love how UCLA is ranked above UCB and bme2684 goes berserk over claremont being above usc.

Stanford

UCB

Caltech (i’m really surprised how many people i run into that have never heard of this school)

UCLA

USC (yeah not putting Pomona on the list, I’m a fan of big schools)
