What are the worst things about Brown?

My observations about the houses are “my day” and unfortunately now as well. My day wasn’t all that long ago, I was just using a figure of speech. They change food rapidly – the philly with was gone by senior year for instance (that was a NOT an improvement, the philly with was great  ), they change organizations run by people set in their ways slowly.

Yeah, I figured your philosophy was the more reasonable cost/benefit analysis type rather than what you originally wrote. I think I finally understand your point. I guess my closing point is to delineate between organizations that are inherently flawed and organizations with bad leadership. To me it sounds like you’re saying co-ed housing organizations are inherently more trouble than they’re worth. I don’t think that’s true. I do fully support houses being accountable for the actions and being shutdown when the problem is endemic and a full reset is needed - my national organization unfortunately usually is shutting down or reopening a chapter somewhere every year, and I would also never advocate someone join a house that has issues and as such I guess I support your recommendation to approach with caution but I guess my spin is “only join houses that run well” not “be wary they’re all bad”.

While change can be slow, organizations can also change very rapidly too. My house drastically changed from the time I pledged until I graduated (unfortunately for the worse and mostly over the course of one year). In the few years since then, the house has changed again in its character (still not where I’d like it but much better than before).

With regard to the eateries (the loss of pizza bites was also sad), my guess for fastest thing to change at Brown appears to be restaurant turnover on Thayer with the exception of about 5 (ESP, BGO, Antonio’s, Nice Slice, Andreas) who will probably outlive us all (maybe not Andreas).

i still mourn spikes :(

Spike’s!
