I was searching through USNWR for fun, and saw a list of "lowest acceptance rates." I knew Harvard, Yale, and Princeton would be on there...but what are these other colleges that are more selective? Rust College? Jarvis Christian College? Why have they escaped the spotlight?

That’s the point. See, if you drop your acceptance rate to like 4.5%, the “riff-raff” that you don’t want to even bother with will get discouraged and they’ll stop applying. Then you can just let all of the cream of the crop in since you’ve already weeded out the losers by feeding false information to the number-crunchers down at U.S. News.

Alternatively, the Satanic cabal that runs Collegeboard is deliberately trying to stir up ill will towards Christian colleges by inflating their acceptance rating. So when some nice, sweet kid applies to Jarvis Christian as her only college and has her dreams crushed by a fat rejection letter, everyone will hate Jarvis Christian College and mobs will try to burn it down.

jarvis and rust are both historically black colleges, but i think it is probably a mistake. on the wikipedia page, it doesnt say anything about being really selective on it, which i think would be one of most important things on their

Cooper gives every student a full tuition scholarship, and also has an internationally recognized art school, and one of the top architecture schools in the country. Its engineering school is considered to be more brutal than MIT by several people I know.

I know Deep Springs College has a ridiculously low acceptance rate because of how rigorous the application process. You have to several interviews, spend time at the campus, and also have as high a stats as any Harvard acceptee in order to be considered.

Someone just came from my sister’s college from Deep Springs. Well, came at the beginning of the year. When she found out we were both all creepily excited :D.

I have no idea. We’re strange like that. Like today I found out the chef at this college I got into is named Bill Proudfoot and there’s a Hobbit family named the Proudfeet (Proudfoots, as Bilbo would put it) so I called her ASAP and she understood that it was the best thing ever.
