Also, are you happy with your choice?

I’m majoring in East Asian Studies because I’m interested in a career that allows me to work in an East Asian country or in a Japanese or Korean company in the U.S. While I’m happy with my major, I feel like I’m not getting the best out of it from my school. The East Asian Studies program at my university is pretty small and almost unheard of (I’ve had many people asking what my major was about when I tell them what my major is). If I had gone to another university in my state with a stronger East Asian Studies program (like Cal or UC Irvine. While UCLA also has a strong EAS program, I do not want to live in LA), I probably would enjoy my major more.

I’m currently majoring in Political Science because that seems like the default major for all non-IP pre-law students and I enjoy it quite a bit.

I’m happy with my choice. I might take on a second major in either Environmental Science or International Relations but I have yet to decide.

I’m a math major because it’s my favorite subject and I think learning math will help me think more clearly in general. I get the idea that it’s versatile as far as careers go, and I’m happy about that because I don’t want to pick my career at this point in my life, but if I were more careerist I’d probably major in something else. I can’t imagine not majoring in math (unless I figure out I’m not smart enough, which is a possibility that scares me), but I’ve considered a lot of different minors and/or second majors to go along with it.

Neuroscience FTW! Actually, though, if I were starting over now, I’d probably do a dual major with bioengineering or computer science (instead of the minor I’m doing now). I’m a senior, and my interests have definitely evolved over college. I had never done any programming before college, and now I’m applying to PhD programs in bioengineering with hopes of studying human robotics.
