I'm still battling and trying to find a suitable career/field for myself to major in, and so I'd like to hear from all of you who have been taking all these APs. Where are you guys headed for in life, and why? Is it the money aspect or is it based on your interest, or both?

It would be great if you could also explain what the career you are aspiring of will consist of. :)

I was looking into a career in medicine. I would be lying if I said money didn't have some part of it, but besides that I'm interested in helping people.

I am majoring in economics and asian studies (with emphasis on China). I LOVE econ, so that's the primary reason it's going to be my major. But aside from that, a degree in econ keeps your options open for grad school (you can get your MBA, go to law school, get a masters in econ, etc.) and offers good real world opportunities after graduation. In my case, since I am also majoring in asian studies, I want to use my econ degree to work as a consultant and help American companies make the transition to China.

Nursing, psychiatric. My reasons for choosing it, from least to greatest...

1) I find science and (abnormal) psychology fascinating
2) I wanted a major that has a relatively high starting salary so I can help my family out financially right after graduation
3) I'm comfortable in that type of setting. A lot of people, unfortunately, aren't.
4) I've had a lot of exposure to mental illness over the years (probably why I'm comfortable with it). Experiences with family, friends, and even myself, have given me the compassion and understanding needed for that job. Those are things I think would be a shame to waste.

History/International Relations. Because I hate math and science and love analyzing cause-and-effect relationships and politics and all that fun stuff.

I wanna major in Bio(medical)engineering with probably a business minor while completing Med school requirements, after which I will either get my MD (leaning towards this one), MBA, or work as an engineer.

1.I have strong math/science interests (although I like humanities, too, I'm just better at math/science.
2. Money's a motive, thus being a surgeon, CEO, investment banker or, to a slightly lesser extent, engineer would pay dividents.
3. MD - I like helping people. Or: Engineering is what my dad does and I've always had an interest in his work.

I'm majoring in either Studio art or animation.. My focus is animation but i really have to brush up on my drawing skills alot in my opinion... But animation is my passion (I like both 2D and 3D so)

Elementary Education with a minor of english/social studies. I know the money is horrible, but why end up with a job you hate. At least i know robots and foreigners won't take over my job!

QBLover_3: Just like you, I want to major in elementary education and either minor or double major in English. I enjoy working with kids, and I also enjoy English and literature. Hopefully with majors in both, I can work in either elementary or high school.

So right now I'm planning to major in chemistry (my first love.......yes I'm mental) and flute performance (my second love). Oh, and I kinda want to minor in biochem. Yes, I'm kinda crazy, but I love it!

oh........and no I don't want to go to med school........I want to go into chemistry/nanotech/biochem/biomedical research. Thus, I want to go get my PHD in chem and work in industrial or academic research when i graduate.
