(Last comment so the thread doesn’t get off topic but YES - I watch people whose job is to promote their skill and often products)
I will be too tired out by the time I list everything…seriously, just too many things…
I’m tired of people deciding not to use basic critical thinking skills. Today several people have posted on FB a story about a guide dog supposedly leading almost a thousand people to safety on 9/11. People who were above where the plane hit. Given any pause to think about it, it’s obviously fake. We KNOW that people above the explosions couldn’t get out. The idea of a dog going back time after time, each time “leading” 300 or more people out, makes no sense. And Snopes spells it out.
I understand it makes people feel good to believe stories like that. My issue is that when we suspend basic thinking skills, we can start believing things that are more harmful than a fake feel-good story. Healthy skepticism is very important in these days of AI and blatant falsities.
So, I’m tired of people not using the good minds they have, because it makes the world more difficult for all of us.
Ha, this is me.
I thought of another thing I’m tired of - almost always being the one who has to initiate getting together with friends. I don’t get it. They are always happy to do something, but if I don’t bring it up, they don’t contact me.
I can sympathize with this - I am the one who organizes all of my friend get togethers - nobody else ever steps up to do it. This is true with several different groups of friends.
Ditto here about getting together with friends. DH and I wonder if they just don’t like us.
(BTW: Re Influencers – I follow a young woman on extrapetite.com, and I generally like her recommendations very much. I have occasionally bought something that I saw on her site. So there – Influencers do influence!)
I’ve been following her for years and bought some items that she recommended too.
I am tired of not being able to turn off my brain.
I think of Madeleine Kahn singing “I’m Tired” in Blazing Saddles. Haha
I’m tired of shopping and others not understanding the basic rules.
Don’t stand with your friends in front of one of the freezers at Costco and chat
Don’t push the cart while beside it, blocking the aisle
Don’t let your kids run rampant. Tag? Really?
Don’t park your cart in the aisle at Target, right next to the shelves, you at one end and your 3 kids spread out at the other, effectively blocking the entire thing.
Don’t leave ten feet in front of you when the line behind you for the pharmacy is another ten deep.
Maybe the ten feet distance is being polite while waiting to pick up the Paxlovid you need to use…
@cbreeze : I mentioned her on CC a few years ago. Maybe you heard about her from me!
Sure…if there wasn’t anyone in front of her and she wasn’t buying meds for her dog.
(For some reason it puts my anxiety into overdrive)
Well, me for one. I actually didn’t even start following a few until about 6-7 years ago. A few things I’ve bought outright that they showed that I loved. More often than not I get ideas and find perhaps a cheaper option. I actually love the ones I follow.
I sort of found after I retired, I just felt like I didn’t know how to put myself together in a more casual way, fashion wise.
Politics
Everything lol
People, people not caring about anyone but themselves, waking up early, watching what I eat, bring frugal, hot weather
DD got one last week; she’s been bragging on it since
I’m sure it works a lot better than a fat finger! My birthday is coming up, maybe I’ll hint for one.
Seriously over-priced tickets for pro sports.
The Golden State Warriors have a pre-sale on tickets, and I thought I would get some for the family. The three cheapest tickets I could find amounted to $375 total, not including fees, for an ordinary game against the San Antonio Spurs.
No thank you.
