Graduation is approaching and I really have no clue what to wear under the gown. I mean I've seen people wear shorts and a t-shirt but I don't think that will go well. I thought of wearing black pants with a button up and tie but I know it's going to be hot as hell so I'm kind of stuck. Any suggestions? Maybe something light to go along with summer?

Btw my gown color is navy blue.

I’m seriously considering it haha

Is it even appropriate to wear shorts or jeans while representing commencement?

I’ve seen people in the past wear like sneakers, shorts and a t-shirt. I guess our school has no policy regarding dress code. All the girls usually wear heels with a dress. I’m also giving a speech and I don’t want to look under dressed but at the same time don’t want to be drench in sweat by the time I get up there. haha.

A kid at my school last year did the birthday suit thing. Then he wrote on the back of his gown, in glitter glue or whatever, “I’m naked under this”. Rather priceless, especially since the newspaper snapped a photo and printed it the next day.

I’ll probably do shorts, shoes and a t-shirt. Wanna be comfortable sitting for 2+hrs.
