What are your safety schools?

^^ I think people posted Columbia as their SECOND choice/hopeful.

:) with that said - CU is also my 2nd.

safety will be the state uni.

See? This is great (for me at least)
Now I know that my safeties are not that competitve among CCers, save for Columbia.
Needless to ask what major, as good school have almost everything!

Keep going! I like this thread.

Pft, I knew he said it somewhere ;)

Anyway, I'm pretty much going for all reach schools. Probably not the best choice of action, but how many safeties does a person really need?

Forget this junk, I'm all in, win or bust.

There really are not any good schools around me (minus Ohio State, which is 3 hours away, but not my type from what I have seen).

Anyways... I've applied to Brown, Duke, Georgetown, Virginia, Stanford, and Marshall.

My second choice is, you guessed it..... COLUMBIA! (and i thought I was original)

my safeties are nyu, ucla, usc, and PENN* (oh no! arrogance!!!! RAWR!!!!)

*yes, the ivy league school, not penn state.

rutgers and duke (more of a target than a safety)

georgetown, amherst college, and cornell are my backups...

the Columbia thing is hilarious though- and it really is a backup for me (not to be diminutive to columbia or columbia hopefuls, but my school usually sends between 10 and 15 girls to columbia every year from a graduating class of 50.) Anyway- i am not applying. i want to get out of nyc.

UChicago I think is a match. But Occidental College and Tufts are my safety... apparently.

Washington University and University of Illinois.

you guys have some interesting "safeties."

I'm seriously wondering if some of you guys know the meaning of a "safety" school :P

I don't want to post my safety in case that school checks and rejects me based on that.

That would suck. ><

what where ur stats idk if i shud apply there

My second choice is Penn. After that, there's a big clump of schools which I love equally that includes (in no particular order) Tufts, Columbia, Emory, Georgetown, WashU, BC, and GW.

My backups are UConn and Pitt (already in w/ full tuition, so I guess it's definitely a backup now. hah).

Seriously, it says something about the people on CC when you see people posting Columbia and UPenn as their safeties. If you guys can really consider those types of schools safeties, I just hope Yale takes pity on me when they compare my application to yours :P

Anyway, I consider most of my schools "reach." I've got a pretty good chance of getting accepted to a lot of them, but I'm not confident enough to think I'll definitely get in.

Yale, Cornell, UPenn, Boston College, Tufts, Vassar, SUNY Binghamton.

I'm also sending applications to schools that said they'd waive my application fee (because I'm cheap :) ).

McGill and University of British Columbia.

sawry :(

I'm just REALLY hooked as a Penn applicant. My chances for other schools = 0.

I think Alyaa is another me.

Ha, no problem, eating food ;).

I didn't mean it in a bad way, anyway. People here are just too smart for their own good!

Psh, Yale IS my safety.
