just wondering :)

Fishing expedition?

ummm no..

It's fine if you're busy.

It get's me horny.

I think its stupid to call it that, as it really isn't dating... at least not to me. However, I have no problem with meeting people online/making new friends that way. I met my best friend online a couple of years ago (we're basically platonic soul mates. i'm actually a little mad that I'm not attracted to her, as it would make my search for a love life so much easier). That sounds so sketchy doesn't it...

My econ/gov teacher met her boyfriend of nearly 9 years online. Basically when the internet was first starting, I suppose. She's in her 60s. They are the cutest thing. They live in completely different states, but he spends 6 months down here every year, she spends basically all breaks with him, and they talk on the phone almost every day. Seriously, I think that's so cute ^_^

i think its freaky because you'd never know if the person was like a wierdo crazy rapist/serial killer.
lol call me paranoid...

^ Watch it, or you'll be raped, maimed and thrown into a ditch on the side of the highway.

^ I know your name.

^ I know yours too. Ooooo.

^ I know where you live! (Macondo!)

Macondo is a fictional city. Minneapolis isn't.

Let's turn this around.
What are your thoughts about online dating?

I don't know if that's considered "real" dating, but I'm sure that definition can vary from person to person. I don't know... it's just kind of weird.

People tend to present themselves differently online than they do in person. It's hard to get to know someone solely through the internet. Not only that, but the entire process is so impersonal; it's rather cold and emotionally... uninvolved. I'm not saying it can't work out, but the idea is just hard for me to grasp.

Two words: sexual frusteration.

well, my mom did this. after my dad died, she figured she didnt want to live alone for the rest of her life. and since she is in her 50s, she didnt exactly want to cruise the bars or something to find a date. so she did the whole e-harmony thing. and she met her boyfriend there, and they actually get along really well. so i guess it works. but probably more so for older people.

but if you are talking about online dating as in a long distance relationship kind of thing, i dont really think that would work. unless they actually see each other, like in panda's case.

I liked those old eHarmony commercials, about the guy who found all those bad dates using the other dating service. It's a shame they ditched them for those ridiculous ones about two people talking about how much they "love" each other or whatever. At least the eHarmony ones were funny.
