Yes, I am looking for a bathing suit - the two I currently have are fine but I’ve had them for several years and I’m ready for something new and then these can become back-up suits. I guess I should be glad I haven’t grown out of them after several years!
I’m not looking for a recommendation because that gets complicated.
Instead, just show me/us what you’re wearing this year. A pic or a link would be great. Then it’s up to a looker (like me) to decide if it’s a suit to look further into.
So doesn’t matter what you style is….a once piece, boy shorts, bikini, tankini, only black, 3 digit $$ or a $25 Amazon special….what are you wearing???
This presupposes a new one is bought each year–is that the norm? I get one when I absolutely don’t fit or have worn out whatever I have, so no pics or links available.
But usually separates from Land’s End, if that helps.
lands’ end swim leggings with attached skirt, tankini top that matches but was purchased separately. I have never been so comfortable at the beach in my life; wish Ihad them sooner. Thanks to our modest sisters who needed something in average sizes that had coverage, I now swim, lounge, walk in complete comfort and I willad it, it’s a pretty cute ensemble.
No, doesn’t have to be a new suit - just what one are you wearing this year?? Maybe it’s a 2 year old suit or a 10 year old suit!
I want to visually SEE what people are wearing! Not looking for a brand recommendation or a type recommendation, just let’s see it! (As in a link or a google pic or something)
This isn’t just for me, it could be for others. I’m not one to care about a brand of suit, it’s the suit look itself that is how I’m going to make my decision.
Maybe you have multiple to share! I usually have 2 or 3 in the rotation.
I don’t find it that hard, the strap ends have knots in them so it is pretty easy to keep it looped correctly even when loosened enough to get over your head. If you can tie a bow behind your back, the top works.
Since you said to link even to older suits, here is the new version of the one-piece I have. I have a different pattern, but again comfy, coverage but a little extra. I’m realizing I like a strappy back in swim suits, lol.
My favorite suit is a square neck tankini from Lands End. I wear it with bikini bottoms or swim shorts depending on what I’m doing. Unfortunately they don’t seem to have it on their website anymore.
Ok, I buy a new swimsuit about every 20 years. Last year I bought this one. I got some deal so it was about $120, which is still pricey. Though not if that’s what you spend every 20 years
When looking for a new suit in January for winter trip to Mexico, I was blown away by how many choices were at my Target store. (And even more at the bigger Target a half hour away, but I never got there). Sizes vary, so it was great to be able to do fitting room try-on.
I think this is the one I got.
Don’t love it and find myself still packing an old worn out navy bikini (which i wear under tshirt and pants or shorts . or swim coverup dress)
Great thread! Especially since I am looking for a new suit.
Is anyone here a lap swimmer? I find the “typical” shoulder straps don’t do too well for me when swimming a lot of laps. Any recommendations for shoulder/back styles for laps? Feel free to DM me if this will derail the thread.
