If I plan to take the ACTs this fall, which books are the best to study from throughout summer?

I’m just using the red OFFICIAL ACT Book which is published by the ACT, and contains three real retired ACT tests. Also, it offers explanations for all problems. Very helpful.

the official book is great. Also, u should get one of the princeton review books (either cracking the ACT or ACT 1296 questions)

^^^ Cool, I am thinking about getting the PR Cracking ACT, Official ACT, and Crash Course ACT (for the month before the test).

whats the dif between cracking the act and 1296?

1296 ONLY has practice questions whereas cracking the act has practice questions and tips for the test. Cracking the ACT is what u want if u want a study guide type book- otherwise u want the 1296 (if u want only practice)

I bought the ACT Princeton Review book today. If its as good as their SAT book, I’ll be fine ( there book is near the level of the collegeboard sat book).

Yesterday, I went to the library and bumped into McGraw Hill’s book, and it’s is very helpful. So you may want to look into it.

Oh cool…

Just wondering: Does the Cracking ACT book have completely different problems as the 1296 book? I ask that because I am think of getting both for extra practice, but I do want repetition of the same questions.

yes, I believe they are different-- but I havent gone through all of the problems so Im not 100% sure

^ Ok thanks a lot raza68 and everyone else!

Does PR 1296 have explanations? Or just pure question and answer?

^ Yup it has explanations.

^ Yes it does

I’m using Barron’s ACT 36 book. The math practice test in it was harder than usual
