Hey there.
Basically, I wanna dedicate this Summer to working on my SATs. I started off completely lost, but I solved the CB Official book and Kaplan 2013, that's like 22 tests. gladly, I improved drastically.
Now, I'm back to being lost. I don't know what book to use, and I'm taking the SATs (For the FIRST time) on October. My goal for October is to get 1800+ (I wanna be realistic, my ultimate goal is 2000+ from the first try though, but come on, I don't wanna disappoint myself), I think I'm good with Writing, but I want tips on the Essay. I took an extra practice test from CB and I got 2090, and I HOPE to get such a score on my first try, because I wanna take it once. (And focus on my GPA and SAT 2, since it's my senior year)

My question is, I wanna know what books to use now, and why? I have all the books you can think of, Princeton(the 2009 Edition, is that bad?), Barrons, all of them. And I also wanna know what Vocabulary books should I study from, what Hot Words list, and so on. How many hours per day should I study and how many sections per day?(Or tests..?)

ps, Basically, I looked at Barrons and the questions are much trickier than the actual SAT, it's too confusing for me.. should I challenge myself and solve it anyway or would this just be a waste of time? The questions on CB and Kaplan are much simpler and easily deciphered, and I don't wanna waste my time working on something that isn't close to the real thing, you know? What do you think?

Practice: Released QAS, Online Course and, of course, re-do the 10 tests from the Blue Book
Essay: Rocket Review, their strategy is a Huge bless for me. Past 12 essays from this forum and develop your own template. You can search Google. Oh, and you can see the “How to get a 12 in just 10 days” on this forum for REFERENCE only. It’s not that effective, however, if you want to get a score above 10 since too many people use it today.

Vocab: Direct Hits (Must have). All words from past real tests. If you have memorized these, then it should be more than enough.

CR:Google search the “How to get a 800 Critical Reading by noitaraperp” strategy from this forum. This is also a MUST-read.
Also, Rocket Review is fine. The Critical Reader. Strategies from Internet (just google “Critical reading tips strategy”

Math: I dont know. Just do the practice tests and see what type of questions you usually get wrong.

Multiple choice Writing: Erica Meltzer’s Grammar Guide.

WARNING: -NEVER, EVER, consider buying Barron’s books. Their strategies are not exactly effective (at least for me) and their practice tests are crazily (and unnecessarily, which may even has an adverse effect) difficult. Just stick to College Board’s materials if you dont want to get lost!

For how many hour per day should you practice, it depends. What are your weakest parts? CR, Math or W? If it were CR (like me) then you should do 2 CR sections + 1 W/M each day. For me, i am trying to get a 750+ for October, so I strain myself to do 3-4 CR each day.

Hope this helps! :)
