2100+ April SAT takers, what books did you guys use?
And can y'all share some good strategies?

i just read the whole math section in the blue book cuz i figure u cant improve your writing or reading
720 CR
740 M
740 W
good luck and dont stress- unless u hav trouble with standardized tests or a certain section id say classes are a waste cuz they didnt help my friends

Got a 2220 (770 CR/750 M/700 W)

Used CB's blue book - skimmed through math the night before/day of, did 2 or 3 practice tests, and that was enough. shrugs

Used PrincetonReview's Reading and Writing workbook since the Math section is all luck.

Developed strategies for myself for the Reading section with the help of the Workbook, however the Writing section was trash.

Didn't really study though, only studied for 3 days, two hours each.

That's why I'm regretting I didn't now, I was aiming for 2250+ but I'm stuck with 2190 till June.

770 CR 720 M 710 W

I didn't do that well on the writing but I still think Kaplan's writing workbook was pretty good. The CB SAT study guide (Blue Book) was by far my biggest asset. (My PSAT this year was 65CR, 68M, 71W).

I used Rocket Review - read through the ENTIRE book verbatim. (Although this was really for January.) To improve writing, however, I bought like 3 books from B & N and just did a couple practice tests (didn't really like the books, returned them a couple week afters). However, I did use Barron's SAT II Writing book, and this was a GREAT help for the writing section! Barron's really does improve your score, and I thought that it wasn't that boring of a read either.

I got a 2170.... GET THE BLUE BOOK....it has many practice tests....I significantly improved my writing score (680 to an 800)....

i got exactly 2100, which was awesome because i had been getting 1900 when practicing.
I took a kaplan course but honestly, the classes dont help much unless you're already doing very bad. I got the most help from just doing a lot of practice problems from my kaplan textbooks. I would do the problems in my easier classes at school so i didnt do much to study at home besides a parctice test.

2320, used the blue book and testmasters SAT prep course.

Bought 4 books & used... about .25 of one. Haha.

Princeton Review (normal)
College Board blue book
SparkNotes
Barron's 2400

Barron's was crappy. I returned it. SparkNotes has nice tabs with dumbed-down info, pretty lame, tries to teach you how to get a 1800 vs 1700 by guessing, IMHO. College board is full of practice but so long and intimidating. Princeton Review is relatively empty and has a couple of errors (hanging modifiers) in the writing section.

Remember that roughly half of the length of the CB Blue Book is spent on the 8 practice tests. It's the best prep, IMHO.

i got 2340. use the blue book. the tests in those are very good and actually a little harder, in my mind, than the real SAT. I bought Princeton Review and never opened it.

I got exactly a 2100- up from a 197 on the PSAT. I used the blue book but just for the tests not to read. For writing i used barrons writing wrokbook for the New sat and it was very helpful. Critical reading I just did practice excercises and went back and checked every answer including those I got right and wrote down any new vocabulary. Math I'm just naturally good at and didnt need to prep at all.

UGH there are no testmasters in california >:(

Blue Book, Gruber's, and 12 practices from Kaplan
and am going to buy 10 practices from sparknotes
2240 (800CR 740M 700W).....

I got a 2360.

800 M 800 W 760 CR

Basically, I studied out of books. No tutors or courses. All around, the best thing to do by far is take practice tests. I took all 8 practice tests in the Blue Book and had done some practice PSATs before that test. Aside from practice tests, the only real thing I studied was vocabulary. I really really recommend the book Word Smart by PR. It's not specifically an SAT book, just a really good vocab book. I hope this was helpful.

Oh and perhaps even more important than my study suggestions...

I can't over-emphasize the importance of feeling good and having the right mindset on test day. The week before the test, I would do one section a day just to stay sharp. Don't cram. Also, get good sleep not just the night before, but the whole week before. When it comes to test day, just relax. I think the fact that I was pretty calm helped me a lot.

2290

800M, 770CR, 720W

Blue book, Princeton Review, and Barron's. Unfortunately, none of them did a very good job on telling readers how to break the grammar section, so I ended up with a 69 MC raw score. Got an 11 on the essay though.

the only thing i did was take like 6 of the blue book practice tests (770 CR 790M 740W) i should probably have studied the grammar rules and remmeber two or three examples of things that you can tie into wahtever essay

Hmm....I glanced (1-2hours) at the Princeton Review writing section and took the SAT practice test on collegeboard.com. Still managed to get a 2200.
