What Calculator is Best for College?

I’m a high school senior right now and lost my old calculator: TI 84 Plus.

I’m intending to major in something STEM related be it Comp Sci, Engineering or a pure science.

I need a calculator now and would like it to be effective in college as well.

Budget is not too much of an issue as I think all the calculators are all around the 100$~ price range.

I also finished my standardized testing such as Math 2, SAT I, AP Calc and stuff like that so I don’t have to cater my calculator choice for those tests.

Thanks!

It really depends on professors and classes. Some classes will allow only scientific calculators, some will allow programming calculators too.

TI-89 is the most capable calculator I’ve encountered in common use. It can handle indefinite integrals and derivatives, for example, rather than numerical solutions only. Everyone in multivariable calculus was jealous of the TI-89 owners. (This happened a lot: “Okay, it’s just a single integral now. TI-89s, do your thing.”).
