What can be done with my ADHD to transfer out

First off I never heard or knew what ADHD was until 4 months ago, when my doctor told me I have a very severe ADHD. I am currently in community college and have been for 4 and a half year. I still have some class to finish. When the doctor put me on medication I was able to take the subject that I didn't nothing about and would probably get a D turned into an A. The subject I did know about that I would get a C for not finishing or turning in work I would get an A.

The problem now is I never knew I had ADHD and taught I was just lazy. I have a very very low gpa from not handing in project, because I didn't feel like finishing it. Since I've been on medication, I have become active and studying and understanding as I got 2 A's at the spring semester. I am looking to transfer out to a 4 year college but those 2 A's didn't help as I would need a 2.3 gpa to transfer out without graduating.

How can I transfer out as the community college said they not running a certain class I need until next year. That if enough student register also. What can be done and is it possible to take off the grade of FIN which mean didn't come to the final or handed over project, since I just found out I have ADHD.

Now that I am getting treatment I feel that it unfair that I have a bunch of FIN and D and C grade. As I have no control over this. Are there any rules placed that those grade shouldn't be counted.

You really need to talk to the counselors and advisors at you current school. Some schools do offer academic renewal to get rid of Ds and Fs, but not all schools. The schools that do offer, all have different requirements for being eligible.

Once you speak with the advisors at your school? You should have a better idea of what your options may be.

I found out I had ADD the day I turned 18. After that day, I pushed myself so hard and gave no care for medications. You can do it.

Talk to your counselor and ask about academic renewal; you could replace those bad grades with a new grade.

Best of luck

Additionally, you should notify the prospective schools you think of transferring to. ADHD would give you leverage to school, you wouldn’t have have had otherwise. You can also apply for dsps, which would give you extra time to finish assignments etc…
