What can I do to increase my chances of being admitted to MIT?

Hello there, I'm an Junior who is looking at MIT. I already have an average chance at admission, but I am looking for ideas of things to do between now and application time to increase my chances. I'm planning on applying EA as an aerospace engineering major. I go to an small school (550 kids) in England (dad's in the military), so many extracurricular opportunities, especially in the fields of math and science, are not available to me. I'm taking the most rigorous courseload available to me (7 AP's by end of Sr year) Here are my current stats:

White Male
GPA: 4.0
WGPA: 4.2ish
SAT: 770M / 730 CR / 740 W / 2240 (first time, will retake for 2300+)
Class Rank: 1/120

EC's:
Varsity Soccer (9-12)
Varsity Track (9)
Varsity CC (10)
Varsity Golf, captain (11-12)
Club Soccer, captain (9-10)
Boy Scouts
NHS
Model United States Senate (annual conference in Germany), (10-12)
Model United Nations (conferences in Russia, Netherlands, Czech Rep.)
Youth group student leader

AWARDS/ACCOMPLISHMENTS:
Eagle Scout
MUN committee chair

There are some other things but they're not too important. Anyways, what can I do to strengthen my application, specifically in context of MIT? Do they look for anything specific? My school doesn't have any math/science-y type clubs, would it look good to found one? Will MIT take into account the fact that I have fewer opportunities at a small school? I live pretty close to Cambridge University. Would it be beneficial to take some sort of summer program there? You guys are the experts. Thoughts?

tie your stuff together…you seem like a very well-rounded kid (physically, emotionally, and mentally.) But what makes you click, what motivates you more than anything else? What do you want to do at MIT? How do you want to change the world? MIT is looking for a person who will not only add meaning to his/her life but also to the world. If you just wanna make a living, you can do that anywhere. But why should MIT take u? What will u do with its resources? And you dont have to put this into words, but express it with ur passions and activities.

You have good EC’s, but nothing that shows a match with MIT. You would be better off applying to another good school like an ivy, but without any math/science passion, your chances are really low. Just because it seems like things are unavailable doesn’t mean you can’t do math/science things. You could do your own research project, take classes online or at a university, tutor…

I totally agree with you that MIT is not an ideal match; I’m mostly looking at it because is is one of the few good schools with an Air Force ROTC program (apparently the ivies are to liberal for any association with the military). But I will def. apply to other colleges such as ivies.

trace your ancestry to find some black/native american heritage

I’ll agree with MeSsIah.
You have the stats, and kids who are good matches for MIT get rejected.
It’s a crapshoot, unless your an URM.
Good luck!!

whatever you do, don’t build a nuclear reactor.
