Hi guys so like every other person on here I’m freaking out about college admissions so here goes
UW GPA: 3.6
W GPA: 4.1
SAT: 2200
ACT: 29
Don’t have major awards
EC’s: Debate, volunteer coaching with Special Olympics, Cello
I’m applying next year but is there anything I should do to make my application stronger? I still have time to add a few stuff so please comment! It would make my day
Note: I’m planning to major in business if that makes any difference
It’s kinda late to make your app stronger, because everything takes time. Do you have any ideas for college recommendations?
Here are some other pointers:
-Since your SAT is amazing already, I don’t think you need your ACT score because it doesn’t match up well with the SAT (if you use the concordance tables).
-Try to enter some local scholarships since you don’t have any awards
-Interested in business? Maybe attend a business camp. There are many that deal with entrepreneurship.
-Run for positions in the EC clubs you’re in for senior year.
Good luck!
Since you are a good test taker, you can take some SAT2’s. Nailing them is easier than it is for the SATs or ACTs. Getting close to perfect scores can bolster your application-esp for in the sciences or Math 2.
I’m thinking of applying to UNC Chapel Hill, Bucknell, USC, and UCB
You have a shot at those schools, but chances are low. Test scores are good, but GPA and activities are below average. Just make sure to try to get a slightly higher GPA at this stage, and do a summer program if money isn’t an issue.
