What can I do to start prepping for MCAT?

I just completed senior year and I'm a rising undergraduate freshman.
I didn't do so hot in high school GPA-wise so I didn't get into the college of my choice. Because of this, I want to give it my all in college and be extra-prepared for everything.

You know how a lot of people start studying for the SAT in middle school and end up doing fairly well on it in junior/senior year of HS? I'd like to do similarly for the MCAT. I understand that one needs to take the courses and what not (I've read lots of threads) but is there anything I can do to start preparing well now? I know people say to read articles a lot to improve comprehension. But what if I were to get a test prep book and just read the reviews for some understanding and just start there?

Way too soon to start prepping. You’ll burn out before the exam. Plus you haven’t yet learned most of the material that will be included.

Most people prep intensively only 4 weeks to 4 months before the exam.

I don’t know anyone who started studying for the SAT in middle school. I’ve never even heard of such a tactic and I went to a school where half my class scored above 1500 (back when it was out of 1600)

What you can do now is enjoy your last responsibility free summer and be ready to hit the ground running with studying and stuff when school starts
