Hello there,

I'm in a special undergraduate program, currently in my second semester of freshman year in France; and I'll be studying in Columbia University for my junior and senior year - I get to choose my major at Columbia and have a Columbia degree like a normal student.

I love Economics and Poli Sci, but especially Political Science. I wish to take the double major Poli Sci/Economics, but I do, I won't be able to take a Religion minor (I'm a huge Religion buff, loved it since age 13) because it would be too expensive for my folks, and also, it would take me an additional semester to complete every course.

I thus told myself I would take a PoliSci major and a Religion minor, but when I told that to my parents, they yelled at me by saying I should do the double major or either take a Econ major/Religion minor. They absolutely want me to get a job at any cost, even if it means for me that I'll study something I like less.

I'm currently studying Macroeconomics in France and it's so hard for me as a subject...I take more time than the other students to understand concepts. Whereas in PoliSci, I feel very at ease and everything sounds easy to me.

I thus would like to know what I could do with a PoliSci major ? What career prospectives (except politician ew) ? Are there companies who hire PoliSci majors ? How does it work ? Will I be able to find a job ?
Any PoliSci majors that could give me some info ? Thanks!
