Hey guys, so AP exam scores came out in my area today. So, now going into NEU I have a 4 in APWH, Bio, CS, Stats, and a 5 in Psych. I got a 3 in Chem and Calc BC, with a 4 sub score in the AB section.
I am doing the combined computer science and biology major, hoping to do fulfill premed requisites, while trying to finish NEU in 4 years with 2 co ops. Is this possible? I am prepared to study during the summer also.
Ask your advisor when you get to school in the fall.
^ I agree with Nova.
Quick comment about biology scheduling: 4 in Bio will give you credit for two semesters of intro bio and two labs. You can take biol2299, which is a small seminar on topics of the professor’s choice with a uniform structure.
The 4 in AB won’t give you any class credits in bio – but the Calc 1&dif eq class takes that into consideration and will be some new material
For now make sure that you are signed up for the right classes for the fall semester. If you haven’t had orientation yet, you’ll deal with that then. If you already went to orientation and have your classes selected, contact your advisor if there’s anything that needs to be changed now.
As for future plans: Northeastern now says you can do 4 years and 2 co-ops in any major without coming in with any AP credit (though this would involve lots of summer courses and perhaps a few online courses over co-op). Coming in with AP credit (maybe 20 credits or so, it looks like?) will give you more flexibility. However, fulfilling pre-med requirements will add an extra level of complexity. So I echo what the others said: talk to your academic advisor once you arrive, and then possibly a pre-med advisor.

Overall, you should get about 12 credits, maybe 16. You can get credit for bio, but I would not recommend skipping over those courses as pre-med. Aas others have said, your advisor will help when the time comes. If you take classes every available summer, 4 years should be possible, but it will certainly be a challenge, particularly due to the two choices.
