What can I really do with an environmental science degree??

I'm currently majoring in environmental science but I'm kind of confused as to what I could do with this degree. I want to do something with the DNR or coastal management. However, when I research job opportunities, nearly all of them are environmental engineering, consulting, or compliance, none of which I want to do. I would rather be conserving resources and ecosystems and teaching people to be good stewards of the environment rather than assessing environmental contamination or determining how to save energy or reduce carbon outputs. I'm wondering if environmental science is the wrong major for me. Should I be majoring in something else for what I want to do? I know NOAA has a coastal management fellowship that I would love to do, but I feel like that's such a specific thing that if I didn't get to do that I don't really know what else I would fall back on because I don't like the majority of environmental science fields I've heard of. Am I on the right track with this major? What can I do with this major other than consulting?

Well, IF you get a Master’s degree, you could work for the EPA in PR related jobs (so I’ve been told).

Other than that… I’m curious to hear other responses.
