and how hard is it to get into the coop of your choice as a junior transfer student? thanks!

Hoyt is pretty easy to get into for the spring. I moved in last spring (along with a few spring junior transfers, btw) and we still had maybe three vacancies. Getting into a co-op as a transfer depends on how early you apply, generally. I’m in Euclid and there are a couple transfers, all male; it’s more difficult to get into the smaller houses if you’re female.

While Hoyt has a reputation as one of the cleanest houses, the house isn’t maintained well. It’s so damn old. Pros: good cooks (when I lived there), big selection of food b/c it’s a rather big house (depends on who’s kitchen manager, though), lots of singles (might even get your own without any co-op points), big variety in work shifts. However: it can be cliquey, you’re never going to know everyone in the house (maybe a pro for some), lots of rather quiet studious types (def a pro for some), not a lot of common spaces (same people taking up the TV room arrrgh). If you have more questions, you can PM me.
