Just curious. :) I'm interested mainly in being a psychologist/psychiatrist depending on my ability to withstand med school. I also like veterinary work but I don't think I have the heart for it. I've been thinking a lot lately about being a translator, too (I study Spanish, French and Arabic), or maybe something involving international cooperation. What about you guys?

Biochemist, pharmacist, pharmacologist, or biostatistician…they all deal with the human body and provide information about diseases and abnormalities to people in some way.

If I had lived in earlier centuries, and had had the opportunity to have a career and exposure to art, i probably would have wanted to draw/paint (people and landscapes and things). but i probably would have failed (as most, i assume, did).

Now, because of living when i do, i just want to see as much of the future as possible. and i want to keep up with it if i can. and maybe get involved in things that concern the future of humanity like (possibly) human life-extension.

The difference between then is now is that back then you had to settle for death (which, while difficult, was not that difficult for most people), or be taken by the appeal of religion, and heaven.

But now i think humans can consider the prospects of living very, very
long lives without being totally delusional (the chance is greater than ever before!)

I am interested in a career in surgery, namely plastic surgery.

^ why do they call it plastic surgery?

“The word ‘plastic’ derives from the Greek plastikos meaning to mould or to shape; its use here is not connected with the synthetic polymer material known as plastic.”

Geneticist or Screen Writer

I know to totally different ends of the spectrum, I guess screen writing would be like a “dream job” but I want to make a difference in scientific research and genetics have always fascinated me, and I can go in to college as a bio major and just see if it’s something I would like making a career out of.

I like FYZYX.

Something in the business world.

I used to want to go to medical school, but lately, I’ve become more interested in dentistry, specifically orthodontics. The challenge of becoming a doctor (getting into medical school, getting good enough grades to get into the residency I would want, etc.) appeals to me, but I don’t know that I would like the lifestyle that comes with being a doctor. I don’t want to be so busy with any career that I won’t have time for the rest of life. Dental school is definitely still a challenge so I think it could be a good fit for me.

If I had the ability to do any career that I wanted, I would be either an artist who draws for movies (not even sure what that’s called, haha) or a musician in a movie score recording orchestra. :D

I should caution that it is very dangerous to limit yourself in college due to what you perceive will or should be your career going in.

I’m of the mindset that your career chooses you, sooner or later. At least if you let it.

Careers that interest me right now are musician, actor, writer (various types), or teacher. We’ll see what happens. The first two aren’t entirely realistic, at least not yet.

I want to be a clinical counselor and write lots of books. And maybe teach English and/or French. And get married and adopt kids, which I think is a job in and of itself.

Mostly interested on computers, math and science. All other subjects bore me. Like seriously.
I want to be a software engineer and work for Microsoft :D

Infectious Disease Specialist, focus on Biosafety Level 4 agents (ie. Ebola, Marburg, etc.)

Yeah…I’m really specific. Haha.

Software engineer

I’m thinking Environmental Engineer or medical doctor. I guess it depends on my soon to be volunteer experience at a hospital. All I know is that I want to help people all over the world.

quantitative finance, to be more specific algorithmic trading

diagnostic radiologist = median income $400,000 per year.

Music (Band) teacher! Preferably high school, but elementary or middle school could still be fun.

a physician. of what specialty, i have no idea. maybe sports medicine or physical medicine. my dream career would be a doctor for an olympics team. that would be amazing.
