So can anyone tell me what would be my chances if I were to apply RD. I would really appreciate it.

is cornell your number one choice? I'd say you have a great chance at getting in.

i doubt it, does cal tech and mit ring a bell anyone???

you have a great chance, very likely acceptance IMO if you apply early.

Yes I concur

Thanks for the replies everyone
but my case is this international+financial aid required.
Do you still give me the same standing.

If what you put is real, it seems like you could get into any tech school, but why aren't you trying to IIT in india?

Dude psquared thanks for the compliment..
Now regarding IIT

" IIT JEE the toughest academic competition in the world" were the headlines of a national daily..does it ring any bells.
Moreover the atmosphere at IIT is just yuck..I mean guys have to study study and study and study even more. Not much scope for self research and you have to decide the engg. you want to do beforehand.

P.S. I once again plead people to have a look at my finaid situation and give me an advice. Thanks a lot.

Your FA situation doesn't change your chances of admission. Cornell is "need blind." It only affects your ability to pay if you are, in fact, accepted. Unless some international students reply to you here, I would advise calling the admissions office and asking about FA stats for internationals, or calling FA and asking them directly for information.

Admission is not need blind for internationals, (Canadians or Mexicans don't count though).

From what I see, you could be accepted, but you might not get financial aid (very VERY few internationals recevie FA from Cornell).

i stand corrected

Lol, if you apply for finaid, you either get accepted with FINAID or rejected completely. You won't get accepted w/o finaid...

There is a guy on here from India, I think his SN was mercurysquad..you can ask him regarding this issue, he also has his stats up at [www.pr stats.com]...and ya he got rejected from all american schools
