What chance do I have?...

<p>Hello everyone.
I am currently a junior in smalltown, usa, and am looking at colleges like </p>

<p>Harvard, MIT, and CalTec...</p>

<p>Here are my stats as of now, and if someone could please advise me as to </p>

<p>whether I have any chance or not, it would be most appreciated...</p>

<p>GPA: 4.35 weighted / 3.8 unweighted.
Courses: All AP/ Honors courses.
Grade Trend: Half A's/ Half B's/ Two C's
SAT: I have taken a supervised practice test for the new SAT, and these were </p>

<p>my scores: MATH 800, READING COMP. 700, WRITING SKILLS 750.
AP Exams: I have again taken practice exams, and unless anything horrible goes </p>

<p>wrong I am expecting a 5 on US Histy, 5 on Chem, and a 5 on Comp Sci this </p>

<p>year.
Sat II's: Same deal, expecting mid-700s on all...

<p>by the way, would it help my chances at all to send a high-quality dvd-portfolio?
or do admissions officers just chuck these types of things in the trash?</p>

<p>i mean, the dvd would include brief videos giving more detail into my ec life and explaining some of the projects ive done over the years, as well as being a showcase for my animations, video games, and the such that ive made over the past couple of years...</p>

<p>oh, and i think i probably have about 150-200 or so hours of community service.

Oh, and i'm entered in several essay scholarship contests, as well as a National 2D Flash Animation Contest...</p>

<p>being from europe doesnt make a difference, you still apply as either white/caucasian or intl student...i think you would probably qualify as white...</p>

<p>ecs are interesting for caltech and mit but you need 750+ on satII sciences...</p>

<p>but those c's and b's might be a problem later on if you keep them coming...</p>

i'll post the exact awards later, but ive been participating in the USA Mathematical Talent Search, American Math Comp., The Mandelbrot Comp., and the Int'l Mathematics Olympiad...
and I have started my project for the 2005 Siemens Westinghouse Competition...</p>
