What classes are taken for physician's assisting major?

The title basically says it all but i'm just curious as to what classes are taken when you take that major.

Specifically, what math classes? Is it more statistics or calculus?

I don’t believe there are many or any places where you can get an undrgrad PA degree. Most schools you take classes simulair to what a pre-med would take. Look at some of the PA schools enterance requirements to give you an idea of what you need to take. You could also contact a pre-health care advisor at one of the colleges nearby and ask them what they suggest for people like you what want to go to PA school.

Here is an example Curriculum for the Master of Physician Assistant Studies.

[MPAS (30-month) Physician Assistant Studies-Boston, Curriculum Outline](http://www.mcphs.edu/academics/programs/physician_assistant_studies/pa_30_bos/curriculum.html)

Undergrad prerequisites:

Two Semesters of Biology (1 lab required) 7-8
One Semester of Microbiology (1 lab required) 4
Two Semesters of Chemistry (1 lab required) 7-8
One Semester of Biochemistry 3
Two Semesters of Human Physiology 6
One Semester of Psychology 3
One Semester of Statistics or Biostatistics 3

Thanks for replying :)

Okay so its definitely a masters degree, if things go my way i will be at davis next year (really keeping my fingers crossed) and they have a good program for it. Could i get my BS in Biology or Psychobiology first or i definitely need to follow whatever pre-med courses in order to get into that masters program?

Oh & the curriculum looks good to me thank you. I dont see any math, do i really not need a math course? I know chem takes math and that class is the only one i’m not looking forward to.

My son is in a PA program right now and there is no math. He was accepted to it right out of high school. It’s a five year program.

Wow, they have PA programs where you apply right out of high school? I didn’t even know PAs existed when I was in high school…

We didn’t even know P.A.s existed until the summer before son’s senior year. He was volunteering at a hospital, when one of the physicians advised him not to go to medical school, but to pusue becoming a P.A. instead. I literally spent hours looking at every P.A. program in the U.S. and discovered about 20 accelerated programs, with most offering guaranteed admission to freshmen.
