3 philosophy classes and an abnormal psychology class. Only need 3 classes to get to 70 units but I’m taking 4 anyway. I’m that committed to the books.

Nah… honestly, the only reason I didn’t drop abnormal psychology is b/c of the pretty broads in there. And I didn’t have the heart to turn down a philosophy class.

no worries. Be glad your major doesn’t have pre-reqs. Mine has three but none of the community colleges in a 30 mile radius offer them. you’re probably way ahead of me in terms of admission because you probably have most of your units done while i’m “cramming” twice a full load into a single semester.

Physics 120 (Electromagnetism). Did Physics 110 (Mechanics) and Physics 211 (Special Relativity, General Relativity, particle physics, etc.) Don’t know why I didn’t do them in order. This is a major req as well as a pre-pharm req…
Chemistry 120 (General Chem 2). This is a major req as well as a pre-pharm req.
Communications 101. This is a class I must pass to transfer.
Art 130 (Ceramics)…not an art major but this fulfills my last humanities class, thank God.
English 102. This is a class I must pass to transfer. Pre-pharm req (I think) too.

I’m also taking those online classes Stanford offers for free in Game Theory and Model Thinking.

@asphyxiac: Ouch? I tried doing LA, Diffy Q, Physics 1, and some other class at the same time, but my teacher for LA was hard enough. Actually dropped it and ended up retaking it with the same teacher and was still so work intensive I barely paid attention to my other 3 classes. But I guess experiences vary as well as the style of teaching. Good luck!

Abnormal Psychology (don’t need this; just for fun) - 4 units
Psychobiology (for UCB/UCSB) - 4 units
Introduction to Biology (UCLA didn’t like the bio class I already took, for some reason) - 5 units

Units: 13

Spring quarter:

Human Experimental Psychology: An Introduction to Cognitive Science (for UCSB) - 6 units
Concepts of Physics (UCLA has some strange major prerequisites for psychology) - 5 units
Social Psychology (don’t need this; just for fun) - 4 units

Units: 15

Easy load by many people’s standards, but I can’t say I’m complaining. :p

Only two classes that total 10 semester units, but both are pretty conceptually advanced and time consuming. I’d gladly take 20 units of humaties courses or lower division sciences than half as many units with this schedule. The silver lining is now that we’ve already sent in our applications I’ll gladly take a 3.0 this semester instead of stressing out pushing for a 3.6+ to maintain my GPA.

Oh yea i am on a quarter system and basically 5 classes this quarter and 4 next quarter. its all because of the 60 units requirement which is like 90 quarter units. (im currently in winter quarter, spring starts in April )

@sblee483 Yea im going to both foothill de anza right now, commuting sucks.

If you have a car, commuting between De Anza and Foothill is a cinch. That’s the easiest 10 minute trip ever yet some De Anza students who attend Foothill moan about that and having to walk up a small hill. It’s funny to watch and listen to.

The 23 use to go to Foothill but now you have to take the 51 to the 52. I can understand complaining about taking limited public transportation that could take up to an hour but driving 10 highway miles in such a big valley? My observation has been that the ones that prefer Foothill are less likely to complain about such a short commute. I take it you are a De Anza student due to such a grievance.

My gripe is I wish they had a short bus from Foothill to De Anza. Cheap buggers!

^You’re taking like 25 units in one semester? 3 of which are lab classes and one is an upper division math class and a foreign language? I find this hard to believe lol.
