What clubs are you in?

NHS

and I want to start MAO this year. Most of the other clubs don't do anything worthwhile, so I see no point in joining. My clubs pale in comparison to the CC standard :)

I've changed over the years... somewhat. Mostly I just found out which clubs don't do anything and dropped them. :p

Those are looked at as clubs/ECs at my school but are taken at first period (or 0 period as many of you might say).

I just did band in its many incarnations - pep band, jazz band, steel drum band, etc. That was more than enough to keep me busy. Plus there were very few clubs at my high school, and the ones they did have were not anything that would have held my interest for more than a few minutes. Now they have a robotics club, though, which my boyfriend is in, so I go to that with him (I get to be the mascot even though the costume is WAY big on me, it's awesome). Wish they had had that while I was actually a student there.

National Science Honor Society
National Honor Society (I'll be inducted this year)

I'll be joining the Italian Club and the FBLA, probably.

How do you people do so many clubs? Unfortunately, I take college classes twice a week immediately after school so I can't do many clubs, but even if I didn't- being a dedicated member of 6-7 clubs is WAY too much!

umm...

Math Club
Science Olympiad
Science Bowl
Science League
Academic Decathlon
Waksman Club
Red Cross Club
HELP Club
and probably some more that i'm just a member in...

i'm so ASIAN lol...

FBLA..Future Business Leaders of America
+Business Honors Society

French Honors Society

Young Democrats club at the local democratic commitee

Model UN

Webmaster for a lot of different clubs, such as Asian culture club, school newspaper, business honors society, cinnabar newspaper and a few others..
I don't actually have to go to meetings, but I help run/make the website with another friend.

I'm thinking of starting a few clubs, and I'm not sure whether I'll drop art club and Varsity Golf or not.

Here's what's in the works:

-Appointed to represent students at next state agency meeting (I'm hoping to make this permanent)
-In the running for a 2nd state advisory position
-Should be school ambassador
-Talking with online provider about starting an online math club

-I'm thinking about taking the test to become a member of either the National Association of Parliamentarians or the American Association of Parliamentarians (Adult organizations)
-Applied to be a county junior historian

Should be founding:
-Math club and Spanish club

This is my face near everyday: @_@

Oh, and I'm looking for a job.

^ wow, and 10th grader? You're a legend.

I think a job wouldn't be important and would distract, unless you need it for financial reasons. Otherwise, your EC's are so prime for being so early in high school that you should focus on turning them into something truly unique that will make you stand out

I understand your @@ . Lot's EC's certainly do consume a lot of time. My face however is this: ><

My problem is I lack focus, and very few things are impressive.

I really want to go to 2 college sessions this summer and take a of total 4 Post-Calculus BC courses. The total cost for it will be around $4,300. I need about $2,800 more and I don't think I'll be able to get that through scholarships (Although I'm going to try)

What's going to be really funny is that I should qualify to be a Marshall at the college I'm taking courses with.

Marching Band
Jazz Band
Humanitarian Club
NHS
Interdisciplinary Steering Committee
African-American Student Network
A couple of other clubs I can't think of...

Aigiqinf, what college are you looking at? I'm interested too.

Key Club
Spanish Honor Society
Latino Leadership Coalition
Young Democrats
Art Club
Yearbook Staff
Leadreship

Wow. Fail.
I've been rejected from NHS TWICE. My school is very selective.
I also want to find a club. Not sure what it's going to be.

Sports: Track & Field

9-12:
Scholars' Bowl
Speech/Debate
11-12:
Rowing (Crew)
NHS
Math club (heavily uninvolved)

Model UN
National Honor Society
Spanish Honor Society
Yearbook Staff (only juniors and seniors can join)
Math Club
Peer Tutoring

Clubs (Freshmen Year):

Student Government:
Student Council (President)
Leadership (President)
Grand Student Council (President)
School Site Council (Sole Representative of Students)
Youth Advisory Council (for the city, not a school club)

Law/Politics/IR
Model United Nations
Harvard Model Congress
Mock Trial (Head Attorney)
Public Forum

Math
Math Club (President)
AHSME (a math competition I'm organizing for northern CA middle schools) (President)

Sports
Varsity Swimming (MVP)
JV (Team Captain)/Varsity Water Polo

Misc
Volunteer Club
Recycling Club
Environmental Impact Committee
Adv. Orchestra
Tutor Club

^Let me ask how you got all those leadership positions in freshman year? I don't want to make any assumptions but quite honestly I doubt the quality of leadership of such groups when it was your first year showing up in high school without knowing anyone (broad assumption here but a point still stand) and suddenly you're a leader of many groups without past involvement or anything.

I'm not doubting your ability to be a leader, though.
