I want to go to UT Austin. So bad. But, I'm not in Top 8% (Great time for UT Austin to change top 10% rule to top 8% rule right?). So I'm thinking of going to some bum school, making a 3.8 or higher, and then transferring to UT Austin my Sophomore year. All you need is 30 credit hours to be considered (By that time I would have finished 6 AP Courses for College credits and 2 Community College Classes + 12 hours from school I'm transfering). So I think that's enough hours to transfer (I HOPE). So which school should I attend my first year of misery...

-UT Arlington
-UT Dallas (I live like 20 minutes away, and that's kind of TOO close to home)
-UT San Antonio
-Texas Tech (I'm African American, and it's kind of a majority white school in a rural area.. kind of sketchy lol)
-Texas A&M (Same thing as Tech..)
-UNT
-Baylor is one of my options that I wouldn't transfer out from, but it's pricey. So unless they stick a nice scholarship offer on the table, and I get a few more scholarships.. No freakin way.

Where should I go? And Community College is out of the question! I want to leave home SO BAD! Besides, I got the whole year of any of those schools covered with scholarships.

I'm going to attempt attending Medical School if that helps with anything.

This isn’t about my happiness. This is about finishing school and becoming a medical doctor. You don’t become a doctor by doing nothing man. Thanks for your input, although it was unneeded.

I wouldn’t rule out Tech by any means. I think you would have an excellent college experience and might want to stay. There are plenty of minority students there and good athletics. The honors college is great.

Definitely won’t right now. It’s just not as high up on the list as the other two. I just really don’t feel like being left out of a lot of fun my first year of college. Not like I’ll have much fun with Medical School applications in the near future…

You know how CAP works, right? (Automatic admission to UT Austin after freshman year) If you are certain you want to go to UT, sign a CAP agreement and go to one of the CAP schools.
