What colleges can I get into in IL, IN, IA, and WI?

I currently have a 3.23 GPA UW and a 3.31W. I got a 23 on my act. I’ve only taken 2 AP classes which are AP Psychology( 5 on AP test) and AP Human. I’m also taking Dual Credit Anatomy and Physiology.
I have 4 credits of English
4 credits of math
5 credits of Science
5 credits of social studies

I have 40 hours of volunteering at a place where you help special needs kids. Also I was in Key Club junior and senior year. I’m planning on doing another Club senior year.
I haven’t done as well as I could’ve in highschool. Freshman and sophomore year I’ve gotten a 3.2 gpa but Junior year I got a 3.44 gpa. second semester of Junior year I got a 3.56 unweighted and 3.7 weighted. I really want to get into UIC, DePaul or NIU in Illinois but I’m not sure if my grades are up to their standards. I’m taking the September and October ACTs so how much should I raise my score?

Here is a link that may be helpful: https://bigfuture.collegeboard.org/college-search. Type in the school you are interested in, then click on the link to “Applying”; there you will find statistics that are relevant to admissions.

What major/career do you want and how much can your parents pay per year? You’ll need that info too to start finding your best options.

What state do you live in? What do you want to study? How much can you, and/or your parents pay?

Are you in-state for IL?

I would pick a safety for IL, in case you aren’t admitted to the three you listed, and/or they re too expensive.

Consider: Eastern IL, SIU-Carbondale, SIU-Edwardsville, Western IL, and IL State for safeties.
Northeastern IL U if you want to be in the city, and also as a safety. I think they are building dorms scheduled to open in Fall 2016, too.

Other IL/Chicago-area schools that would probably accept you:
Elmhurst College
Dominican University
Augustana College
Illinois College

Other states:

Indiana State, Ball State (IN),
any of the IU branches, or Purdue branches

University of Northern Iowa
U of Iowa
Iowa State - there is a formula on Iowa public U’s website that determines your acceptance…

UW- Stevens Point
UW- Milwaukee
UW-OshKosh

Good idea to take the ACT again and shoot for the high 20s, or at least a 25. That will make you more competitive for UIC, DePaul, and NIU; as well as others.

Also, look at Loyola U.

I think you could get into them, but do you know if your parents will pay for them? What are they saying about how much they’ll pay? None of those schools give great aid. They all gap a lot.

Parents are paying and since the schools are instate the tuition is very cheap
