I am interested in applying to the Ivys as well as some other safer schools. I would greatly appreciate some constructive feedback, college suggestions, and maybe my chances. Thank you.

Tufts, Macalester, Kalamazoo, Earlham for a spectrum of selectivity. Others may suggest George Washington and American but I don’t know much about them.

You have as good of a chance as anyone when looking at the Ivys and anywhere else for that matter. But thousands of people have resumes like yours and don’t get in. Although I disagree with someone having a “chance” and schools selecting randomly, it is sometimes hard to understand how they select students (I like to think they “build” classes"). The only thing that might hurt you is your class rank, but judging off your other statistics, you probably go to a vary tough hs. Good Luck though and remember to apply to “matches,” “safeties,” and “reaches.”

For IR–the are 5 schools that perennially top the list–Johns Hopkins, Georgetown, Tufts, Princeton and Columbia. The second tier would include GW and AU.

For political science–virtually every top school has a good PS department. It won’t matter much for undergraduate study. Choose the best school you get into and which is a good “fit” for you.
