What do you want to do with your life?

What do you want in a school?
Urban/Suburban/Rural?
Big/Medium/Small?
Liberal/Conservative?
Location?

Well, I honestly don't know, but I want to get an idea about where to apply based on my stats. Like, which colleges might accept me.

Well, there are hundreds of great schools that would accept you, but we need something to narrow it down. Even a major or a location preferrence would be a good start....

Okay, I'm thinking about majoring in electrical engineering. And probably somewhere in a city would be nice.

Carnegie Mellon
Georgia Tech
Johns Hopkins
Rice

Case Western as a safety. Maybe Drexel.

Thanks, that was helpful. I was also thinking about Cornell...would that be a reach? just wondering.

Cornell would be a reach, but you have a bump as a female engineer, so I think it's a realistic reach.

University of Rochester and Tufts would be other great choices for liberal arts + engineering.

Are you a Senior and just getting your list together now? Most deadlines are fast approaching.

Why not do a field trip? Visit the nearest small liberal arts college, large state university, city school, and engineering college. Once you figure out what type of education you want, it gets easier.

you're a complete loser snowgirl

wow that's mean....

Did you honestly bump this just to harrass the poor girl?

She's probably done with apps by now anyway...

My cousin was the saledvictorian at my HS with like a 98 average and an SAT of only 1800 and she got a full ride scholarship at Drexel. You might get that, and u could use it as ur backup school.

Well, Cornell was the first place that came to my mind when reading your stats. Don't go to a tech school unless you really, really want to focus on that. Hopkins sounds good. How about George Washington as a safety? Look at Vanderbilt.

Try Fu at Columbia for a reach...

I think Case Western is more of a low match than a safety. Cornell is a reach and, depending on your definition of a city, Ithaca may not qualify. I know my brother in law left there because he was tired of being in the middle of nowhere (YMMV).
