Wait wait you are thinking of applying to rank 1-10 on USNWR ranking?

I want to go a big research school, so yes. I’ll also consider any other suggestions you may have.

yes those schools are reaches, but they are for everyone. i would recommend applying

apply to all top schools you want to get into. basically apply anywhere that you could see yourself going

I agree. Apply to any of those schools, but realize that they are a reach for everyone. Find some matches and safteys that you love as well. Look at some of the schools that are not ranked quite so high that you think you would enjoy attending.

What would be some good matches and safeties for me?

Matches - BC, matches are hard to find usually because once you get into the good schools its all a gamble.
Safeties - Wake Forest, BU, NYU, Pitt, Penn State.

good luck!

You are clearly a very competent (and competitive?) student. You probably have all of what it takes to get into the ivies, but it’s also about choosing the school that’s right for you. I believe that if you do that, the admins know it and accept you. Where have you visited? Where do your friends go? Where do your teachers recommend? Your guidance counselor? Do the research and enjoy that you have such strong stats. Start w/ size, location, city-rural. Go to those big books in your library…Fiske, Ruggs, etc.
