Im a junior at a public school. I am clueless about what schools I should be looking at. I just received a 31 composite on my Acts. I had a 3.55 weighted Gpa freshman year with one honors. Last year I received a 3.7 gpa with AP Biology, chemistry honors, and algebra 2 honors. This year I am taking Ap econ and Ap environmental and so far through the first semester I have a 4.0 gpa. I got a 710 on my bio satIIs and I am going to take the math level one SatII this spring. I am part of club green at my school (environmental club), I run track all three seasons, I am an EMT, I tutor those less fortunate than me in a near by urban environment, and I am part of the geography club. If you could give me an idea of the schools that I should be looking a that would be great.

What kind of school do you think you’d like?
Large or small?
Urban, suburban, or rural?
What part of the country?
Are you interested in arts and sciences or in a pre-professional program (engineering, business, architecture, etc.)?
How much can your family afford?

If you are asking where you stack up in admission chances at the most selective schools, it’s hard to say without junior year grades. If they are consistent with your existing stats, you should be a good candidate for many schools in the US News top 21-50. Look up information on some of these schools (including both LACs and Universities) to see what appeals to you.

Thanks that was really helpful. I think I might want to go premed, but I’m not that sure yet. I don’t want to be in an urban environment; however, I really don’t want to be in an rural one. My parents want me to go to cornell(legacy), but I’m not really sure if that high pressure environment is right for me.
