what colleges that offer good Need-based Financial Aid for transfers? (EFC=0)

Hi! I thought that starting this kind of thread might be a good idea because it might be helpful if there was a compilation of colleges that offer good financial aid for transfer students.

Basically, my question is , what colleges offer good need based financial aid for transfer students? My EFC=0 (lower income)so it would be difficult for me to afford to pay for college. I'm also asking this because I've heard that many colleges don't give good aid for transfer students.

You might post this in the Transfer students section.

I did post this in the transfer forum but nobody replied :/

We had a friend whose daughter transferred to Smith and got a great finaid package from them as a transfer. Another one I believe transferred to Vassar.

nevermind this thread! i got better response on the transfer forum :)

My D transferred to Smith (like thumper’s friend) and was given a good package. Mt. Holyoke and Boston College also accepted her as a transfer, and gave her good packages.

You will have to have very good college stats to get accepted to the schools that “meet need” for transfer students. Since transferring is your goal, then keep that in mind during the next 2 years. Study hard and get excellent grades.

Good luck.

Cornell is another school.

Here is the link to the transfer page of our local community college’s website. Some scholarships discussed would only be for local students, but others would work for any transfer: [Transfer Scholarships](http://cms.montgomerycollege.edu/EDU/Plain.aspx?id=17989)

The best scholarships that I know of for transfer students, are those offered for community college transfer students through the Jack Kent Cooke Foundation: [Jack Kent Cooke Foundation - Undergraduate Transfer Scholarships](Resources for Community College Students - Jack Kent Cooke Foundation)
