what colleges that offer good Need-based Financial Aid for transfers? (EFC=0)

Hi! I thought that starting this kind of thread might be a good idea because it might be helpful if there was a compilation of colleges that offer good financial aid for transfer students.

Basically, my question is , what colleges offer good need based financial aid for transfer students? My EFC=0 (lower income)so it would be difficult for me to afford to pay for college. I'm also asking this because I've heard that many colleges don't give good aid for transfer students.

My EFC was around 5400 and I got almost full tuition covered at Georgetown as a transfer (pay like $800/year for some reason), then room and board costs.

If money is an issue, the obvious choice would be your local state school, assuming it has a decent program in what you intend to major.

You start with the schools that give the best need based FA to fr applicants and particularly those with special policies for low income families. Because the schools that are most generous to fr are generally also for transfers. There are a few exceptions like Brown. The problem is that just like fr admissions, the hard part is getting accepted by these schools because they tend to be the most selective.

And since you’re from the TC, have you done what hesdjjim says and look at UMinn? I know they have great merit aid for fr, perhaps they do for transfers as well?
