If you are interested in a western university consider the Annenberg School of Communications at the Univ. of Southern California. It encompasses Print Journalism, Public Relations, Communication and Broadcast Journalism.

Major research initiatives explore communication technology, entertainment, the public interest and global communication.

Check out Ithaca

Northwestern, Syracuse,

Ditto NWern and Syracuse. I was listening last week to Mike Tirico's show on ESPN Radio (sports journalism - Tirico is the host of Monday Night Football). He had as guests Harry Kalas, the Hall of Fame broadcaster for the Philadelphia Phillies, and Harry's son Todd who is part of the broadcast team for the Tampa Bay Rays - father and son representing opposing teams in the World Series. Nice story. But during the interview, it became clear why the Kalases were on Tirico's show. Todd was Mike's roommate when both were broadcast journalism majors at Syracuse, and Mike used to go home and stay with Todd, where he'd hang out with his roomie's legend father and pick up professional insights. I was thinking, "well, I guess that's why you go somewhere like Syracuse if you're really serious about broadcast journalism."

Syracuse and University of Missouri-Columbia

Both have MANY outstanding grads in "high places" who love to help new grads network

Quinnipiac is supposed to have a good program.

Gotta second Syracuse, could be the best in the nation for broadcast journalism.
