J-schools

I'm a senior in High school and currently looking at a broadcast journalism major and was wondering, which colleges are the best for this major? Any help is greatly appreciated.

Penn State, Syracuse, Missouri, Ohio University, Indiana, Boston University, Ithaca, Emerson, Northwestern, Arizona State, USC, Washington State and Ball State (IN) are some to check into.

Just as an example, look at the bios for the anchors and reporters on CNN. You’ll see a wide range of schools and majors represented.

thx guys, do you know which has the best career services with internships and I was tending to lean to Syracuse because of the New York area being a big market instead of like St. Louis but Mizzou is strong as well. Any guidance thx

Syracuse is quite a distance from NYC but has very good connections to the broadcast market generally, esp. in sports media. USC’s Annenberg program is small but very well connected regionally in SoCal . Maryland offers good regional connections around DC. Medill at Northwestern has a huge national/international name with the strongest academic rep. in the business. UNC-CH is a tough out of state admit, but a good program as well.

Thx Bala i really appreciate it. Do any of you guys know what is a good double major/minor to go along with broadcasting that can bring decent pay while I work my way up in broadcasting?
