What could be a 'hook' for BS?

Does anybody have any idea on 'hook'? There are many kinds of 'hook' and some are not easily found in the application packets. What will be the 'hook' really?
URM, Class Rank, SSAT, Strong in Interview, National Level Award and so on.
Thanks for your sharing idea. Good luck to everybody.

Class Rank 1/ 700 could be a hook also? Competitive Public High School.

This may sound odd, but I think “maturity” is a big hook, and the places it comes through are in the interview and the essays. What a kid is thinking about, how they interact with adults, how they handle the inevitable question, “Why do you want to leave your family nest and come study at our school?” Schools want kids to succeed, so they want to admit kids that can articulate why they’re ready for the BS opportunity.

I agree with The Big5. By the way, My D did very good job in her interview with Exeter but did so-so with Andover. Same person with difference interviewer could make big difference. Her interview with Exeter took about 2 hour and both of them, my D and Interviewer, looked excited after the interview. Her interview with Andover took after her track practice and her off-campus interviewer looked tired from overtime work in her hospital. Both of them looked tired and ended with so-so. I am pretty sure that essay and recommendations are good since my D is very closed to teachers and her strength is in writing. Couple of day left before March 10th and no worries but many thanks to everybody. My D learned where she has strength and where she has weakness during preparing the application package. This is already good.
