I'm from Ghana.

I'm from Germany, but live in Canada (got stuck there after an exchange year in grade11) loved it so much that I decided to graduate there. Well, that's what happens...

hey! this is a hot thread!
im a nigerian
born in ivory coast
grew up in england, france, (ivory coast, nigeria)
living in tunis now
applying to mcgill, queens, western, guelph, mount allison and sherbrooke (all in canada)

Duncanctc, your materials look pretty nice.Decent SAT score, strong recs can boost your chances. However,I am not from the admission committee and I cannot tell you for sure that you are gonna be in.I think you have a great chance to get acceptance letter, but I can't promise that you are gonna get academic scholarship. As I heard, every year,a lot of people applied for the Dean's Honor Scholarship, making it very competitive. Some say that an above 1500 SAT score is the prerequisite to be considered the DHS.But the source is not from the school,so you don't wanna rely all on those sayings.Don't worry,I think you will get in.And I hope you can get a decent aid package, hehe.Good luck.E-mail me if you have more questions.Hope to see ya in summer.

Canada! (Alberta)

Positive you're thru with the application headaches and now have some time to relax. where did you apply?

that's a great deal of travelocity!
hey I'm also Nigerian, but never gone anywhere.
Why Canada? and not US?

Tianjin, China

but I finally have my PR card

I'm doing it the fourth time!!! Kyrgyzstan here. why all prev threats stop working???
and PRIVET to all Russian speaking guys... Happy New Year, S Novim Godom!

I'm only in grade 11, hence no applications headaches (yet).
Planning to apply to loads of canadian schools... Queens, McGill, Ottawa (for the political science connection), Bishop's, Western, Victoria, U of King's College/Dalhousie (maybe more if I think of them).
Besides, applications won't give me headaches. I am pretty sure I will get into the programs I want to. The thing that will induce a need for tylenol - scholarships. I'm pretty confident that I can get a couple, so to not get any would make me very disapointed. Plus I still have a year to develop my extra-curricular portfolio. It's all good. Oh, and I might apply for some US Ivy Leagues (Yale, Harvard?) just to see how their admissions compare - I wouldn't go without a major scholarship because I would be in debt to the student loan people FOREVER! Plus I'm happy here in gun-free, liberal, snowy Canada. Exchanges to Europe, however... count me in from day 1. Queen's actually has a program where you take you're first year in England... applying for that!
:)

what's the point of applying to a school and not going there the first year? wouldn't it be better to travel abroad in your second year? why don't you consider a gap year?
