<p>No I didn't but I'll admit I wasn't clear. You only get an interview if you're in-state so you don't hear a thing about anything untill decisions come.</p>
<p>The people who get regents tend to have a large amount of volunteering and other fairly "common" ECs such as NHS, sports, etc. These are ECs that would not be allow you to stand out at schools like HYPS. </p>
<p>For instance, a friend of mine who is very talented and dedicated to an obscure Persian form of dancing/singing did not get regents for UCLA or Berkeley, but ended up getting into Harvard and Yale. </p>
<p>Thus, my conclusion is that many of the people who get regents at Cal are those who did a lot of the usual ECs while maintaining a solid GPA, whereas those who were not as active in school or the community but had more specialized/unique ECs often do not get regents.</p>
