What did you ACTUALLY do after you read the letter?

macaroni!! Congratulations. Vanderbilt has SUCH a great music culture…and you will add something special to the mix.

(I can’t wait to attend a concert or two as a parent at the world class Schermerhorn Symphony Center which wasn’t even built in my era. and the concerts available on campus in Blair are just to die for.)

happy for you!

Thanks, Faline! I’m more than excited. I’m hoping to drag my parents down there to see all the musical offerings Nashville has! When my mom and I visited, we did the whole Nashville-tourist thing… our trip to the Grand Ole Opry to see Lady Antebellum was a highlight!

you haven’t even scratched the surface of the music talent you will enjoy in Nashville as teachers and as performers. Will we be seeing you play in the Vandy Symphony?

You definitely will! I’ll pursue classical music in addition to trying to start a career in country. I play a few other instruments besides violin, and I also sing.

Heck, you may even see me in some Vandy plays! I’ll be minoring in theatre. =) I guess I’m just a performer at heart.

fabulous…Edgar Meyer was on staff last time I was there…I met Johnny Cash at a wedding on my first day of work…saw George Jones carried out of a restaurant, watched Minnie Pearl cheer people who were ill in my place of employment, and saw Amy Grant buying milk in sweats at Kroger. I could go on and on. Attended a party where Baryshnikov was the featured guest, saw so many cool rock and blues stars perform at the Exit Inn, and quiet shows with older singer songwriters Steve Forbett and Marshall Chapman at the Bluebird Cafe. Steve Earle…Texas Swing bands…oh my…Nashville has it going on. Lucinda Wms…Emmylou…OK, I am OLDer

love Nashville…
