I'm taking Bio-M, Chemistry, and probably Math II. I've taken Ap bio, Ap chem, and I'm taking BC Calc Ap this coming year. I've taken them before, but I didn't do really well. I got a 4 on each of the AP tests, but the subject tests are formatted a little different. Any tips? Thanks guys!

Hi,
I took Chemistry and Math II last year, and I prepared for Bio and didn’t take it.

In order to study for Chemistry, I did the Barron’s SAT III book, but I didn’t find it that helpful. I did the entire book, and then when I went to take it I got a 780 last May. After studying for the AP Chemistry test (I got a 5) and the AP Chem final, I took it in June without studying and got an 800. So, since you’ve taken AP Chem I would review those materials rather than doing SAT II prep. I think the biggest difference between the SAT II vs. AP Chem tests are that some of the SAT II questions are more concept based, so I would reread a lower level chem textbook.

In order to prepare for Bio, I did parts of both the Kaplan and Barron’s SAT II books, but they covered a lot of things I didn’t understand so I ended up not taking it. I also took AP Bio and ended up getting a 5, but some of my friends who do USABO and do really well in bio ended up not doing well on the SAT II.

I took Math II the same day as I took the second Chem SAT and I prepared by doing the entire Barrons book, as well as doing the Dr. Chung’s book. I found it harder than the Barrons book and easier than Dr. Chung’s but I neded up getting a 790 and will probably retake it.
