What did you score on your first SAT?

March 2010 (Junior): 1950
June 2010 (Junior): 2240
October 2010 (Senior): Hopefully 2350+

7th Grade- 1460 :frowning:
8th Grade- 1560
9th PSAT- 161
10th PSAT- 203
10th SAT(was our final exam for SAT prep class, an actual released SAT test)- 2120
pretty bad :/

Additionally, I didn’t do any preparation for my SAT, but did about 2 weeks of practice questions from the science section in addition to a math practice test for my ACT.

only on CC would a 2120 be pretty bad xD

I got a 2100 first try. I currently have a 2230… Doing more prepwork now, hoping to boost to 2300

Jeez. The average SAT of CC kids is like 2300, I swear… Everyones a total genius :/

Well,

“Genius” implies creativity, which is basically the antithesis of the SAT.

The average SAT of CC kids who volunteer their scores is high.

I didn’t know Jersey13 retook a 2370… geez.

I suppose I should do mine. May Junior: 2320 (800 M, 790 R, 730 W). I could probably retake and focus on writing to pull my superscore up to 2360-2390… but why would I bother?

Prep: Just a few practice sections here and there for about a week prior to the test.

Pioneer I’m so jealous! The only section I really need to focus on is CR (though an 800 on math would be nice). I just can’t figure out how to do it. Should I just take every stupid practice test / memorize vocabulary? It’s not like the other two where u can just memorize rules and concepts :(

Honestly, the majority of my CR proficiency was a byproduct of me taking AP English Lit. To me, the demanding literature and AP multiple choice questions made the SAT seem like cake comparatively.

Honestly, I did much better on the actual SAT in CR than I had expected. I got 63’s on both my sophomore and junior PSAT CR sections and would miss one or two questions per practice section I took. So the 790 was a pleasant surprise. I thought my writing score would have been higher than my CR, to be honest.

If you’re struggling, I’d advise taking a look at silverturtle’s guide. I’m afraid I’m not good at SAT prep. The test just came naturally to me.

2360 (760 M, 800 CR, 800 W) junior year.

2280 (800 CR, 760 M, 720 W) March junior year. Was subsequently told by my parents that I “would have to study hard for the next time.”

January Junior year; 1750 ( CR 650 M 560 W 540)

I studied with the blue book but unfortunately I was not fully prepared for math and writing.

^^^^haavain that’s what’s wrong with our society. Most people would be extremely impressed that you got one perfect score and probably landed a top 1 percentile overall. But I guess anything short of perfect means nothing nowadays. :(

Junior Year:

780 CR, 630 M, 770 W.

Retaking in November for 800 CR, 650+ M, 800 W, for a grand total of 2250 +.

Circular! I’m like the exact opposite. Same W score, low reading, high math. If only we could combine our skills :D

How would that be something wrong with our society today if MOST people consider that a great score? I don’t think that indicates anything about society, just his or her family.

Sophomore Year: 1730 (560 CR. 560 M. 610 W.) :(

Sophomore year- 1690 (590M, 530CR, 570 W)…now a 2140 (740M, 730 CR, 670 W)

That’s impressive.
